Monday May 11th. 2020 The Rocky Road to Corinth As Paul continued his missionary journey and neared Corinth, the road became relatively rocky and difficult. The work in Thessalonica proved fruitful. While only a handful of Jews were persuaded that Jesus is the Christ, a large number of God fearing Greeks came to the faith as did quite a few prominent women. But, the water soon became turbulent. “But the Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.” (Acts 17:5). Such Judaizers would hound Paul for most of his missionary trips and had already caused the Council of Jerusalem to sit, back in Acts 15. Read more ...
