The Rocky Road to Corinth - Acts 17-18.

As Paul continued his missionary journey and neared Corinth, the road became relatively rocky and difficult. The work in Thessalonica proved fruitful. While only a handful of Jews were persuaded that Jesus is the Christ, a large number of God fearing Greeks came to the faith as did quite a few prominent women. But, the water soon became turbulent. “But the Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.” (Acts 17:5). Such Judaizers would hound Paul for most of his missionary trips and had already caused the Council of Jerusalem to sit, back in Acts 15.
